Subject: New Version of "Art of Assembly" Now Available
Date: Wed, 18 Sep 2002 18:55:32 -0700 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <008701c25f7f$a3a12ed0$6601a8c0@rhyde> (raw)
I've just finished uploading an "upgrade" to
"The Art of Assembly Language Programming"
to Webster (http://webster.cs.ucr.edu).
The new version includes dozens (if not hundreds)
of changes suggested by readers over the past
several months as well as lots of changes I've made
during a couple of proofreading passes.
Probably the biggest news is that AoA is now
available in an HTML format. I still highly recommend
that you read the PDF versions (because the HTML
version is not formatted anywhere near as well; in fact,
some of the formatting problems introduce outright errors
in the text). However, for those with limited bandwidth
connections or the desire to load AoA onto a device
(like a PDA) that supports HTML but not PDF formats,
the new version of AoA will fit the bill. Note that to reduce
download times, I have not bothered converting Volume Five
of AoA to HTML format (Volume Five is *really* advanced
stuff anyway, and few people read it, so I didn't bother with
the conversion).
The Art of Assembly Language Programming is available
in PDF and HTML formats for both Windows and Linux
platforms.
