In the last three years I have been very busy with database
programming and other pursuits.

I am getting back into asm again. However there seems to be less
interest in the subject nowadays, compared to say 5 years ago. Surely
there must be some activity in the microcontroller and operating
system kernel circles.

Please drop me a line if I am missing something.

Well, I am not very busy with linux-asm anymore (so this post is problably a
little-bit off-topic ;-) ). But, ...

> Surely there must be some activity in the microcontroller

... I enjoy writting asm for the pic microcontrollers from microchip.

At the moment I spend my time on a webserver written in asm for a PIC18f452
that I have connected to a 3COM 3C509B Ethernet card. More info can be
found at <http://www.janw.easynet.be/pic18f452.html>, but only in dutch at
the moment. Although the pictures should say enough ;-)

Off course I am using GNU/Linux to write and burn the software in to the
PIC, so maybe it is a little on topic ;-)

When I program assembly, it is in MIPS on my PlayStation 2 (running
Linux) so I don't have much in common with PC specific discussion
here.

I have to say that I haven't done anything with it for quite some time
now, but I hope I'll be able to start again, in not too distant
future.

Johann
