Morning Guys,
First of all thanks for your time on answering this query, I
have a couple of questions that I need asking, I’m completely new to BlueZ and Still quite fresh to Linux so you’ll have
to excuse my naivety.
I currently have a Linux box running BlueZ
and running a USB Dongle from 3Com, and everything seems to run perfectly fine,
I’m able to scan for devices, send files to them etc etc.
Now, I’m looking to connect a Serial Adapter from SENA,
which I’ve been told operates on a CSR chipset, and connects to the back
of my unit using a RS-232 connector.
I’ve spent some time reading through all the
documentation I can find and seem to be running across the concept of ‘hciattach’ for connecting this device so I can
process commands through hcitool to my device.
I’ve also read a lot about ensuring I have the latest
Kernel patch running on my system. However I have no idea on how to check my
current Kernel version, or how to install the latest version onto the box.
Can you please offer some advice on how to check my kernel,
install the latest addition and attach my RS-232 adapter to my BlueZ interface so I can use that rather than my USB dongle?
If there are any additional steps that are likely to be
needed can you please point me in the right direction?
Many Thanks Guys,
Rob Rawlins
