Guys,
My best guess at volume control over avrcp is to send volume up/down
commands to the panel subunit on the headset. It doesn't seems to do
anything (no ack/nak or change in volume on bluetake iphono mini). I was
able to confirm the operand codes with a helpful 1394 developer by the way.
Does anyone here on the list know how this really should be framed so we
can control the headset volume?
The packet I'm sending to raise the volume looks something like this in hex:
20 transaction_label=2, packet type=single, cr=command_frame, ipid=0
11 pid lo
0e pid hi
00 ctype = passthrough command
48 subunit type=panel(9), subunit id=0
7c opcode? (this is what the headset always puts here in its cmds)
41 volume-up lo
00 volume-up hi
help :)
Brad

do you have the HP/Logitech headphone at hand? I can try it if you tell
me what to do. I also have a CSR based headphone for testing.
Regards
Marcel

I do have an hp set that I will try this weekend.
I just committed changes so the (single-threaded) avrecv test app sends
a volume up op shortly after it acks any command coming from the
headset. So punching buttons on the headset should raise the volume :(
fyi, avrecv just has to be running when you send audio to the headset.
the headset turns around and opens the avrcp connection when the stream
starts.

I need to go back to square one on volume control. The HP similarly
ignored the volume changes sent to its panel subdevice.

the CSR one is not working at all. It connects back to the PSM 23, but
it never sends any data or command.
I also added a skeleton for AVCTP to hcidump. You might wanna fill it
with actual decoding logic.

Marcel
