Thanks for your reply. However you didn't address the crucial point of
my request, that is that the icon should be hidden always, whether an
adapter is attached or not, *except* when an event occurs that the user
should be notified of.

If bluez were written in Java I probably would, however I have no hope
of producing C patches for this in the forseeable future.
