Good day good hackers:
I have extracted firmware for the Broadcom BCM20702A1 device with id
0489:e07a.
It has allowed as much as being able to scan my bluetooth network for
visible nearby devices, but I can't yet pair with my android
smartphone.
The process I followed was the following:
Find INF file containing the strings both 0489 and e07a among a driver
directory preinstalled in my computer (which came with Windows
preinstalled).
Then I found a specific HEX file to be associated with my e07a product
id.
I converted it to HCD using the binary compilable from the source
available at http://github.com/jessesung/hex2hcd.git
I renamed it according to an error I read from my dmesg, namely:
bluetooth hci0: Direct firmware load for brcm/BCM20702A1-0489-
e07a.hcd failed with error -2
[ 270.283264] Bluetooth: hci0: BCM: Patch brcm/BCM20702A1-
0489-e07a.hcd not found
That is all.
