Hi all,

I am starting to use bluez 3.9 and now I am testing the headset
connection. I found in bluez-utils/audio a daemon named
bluetoothd-service-headset. I thought it was similar to the old hstest.
I tested this daemon: it recognizes the headset but I am not able to use
the sco channel. Moreover the -o and -i options of the daemon seem not
to work.
When I try to call

bluetoothd-service-headset -c 1 -o pippo 00:03:89:75:36:7F
the program answers

headset[802]: Bluetooth headset service daemon
headset[802]: add_ag_record: got record id 0x10000
bluetoothd-service-headset: headset.c:1549: audio_headset_open_output:
Assertion `hs->output' failed.
Aborted

May you help me? How can I use the headset connection?
Thanks in advance!

Livius

I'm using bluetooth-alsa for my headset (see
http://bluetooth-alsa.sourceforge.net )

Maybe that is an option for you?

I have a Motorola headset and am trying to use it with my system. When I
invoke the Bluetooth headset applet, the headset is discovered by does
not register as the active handset. It looks like the connection is made
but it still does not show up.

The gnome BT headset applet does not show the device still. This is a
stage 1 problem. Stage 2 problem occurs when it is seen but does not
connect to become the active handset.

that is a strange issue. What does 'hciconfig hci0 version' tells you
about your dongle?

Are you sure you are using standard code, because this double name
resolving is not meant to happen.

Another thing I noticed is that whenever this happens, if I switch off

OS: Ubuntu Gutsy with standard Bluez utils
Headset utility command: gksudo -D
/usr/share/applications/gbtsco.desktop /usr/bin/gbtsco
Paired devices management: kcmshell kcm_btpaired

Removed pairing and discovered Motorola HS805. Connects when choose make
active headset in gbtsco. Bluetooth Manager shows popup where 0000 is
given and connection gets established. Used hcitool to check.

	root@smohan-laptop:/home/smohan# hcitool con
	Connections:
         	< ACL 00:0B:2E:39:31:3F handle 12 state 1 lm MASTER
	root@smohan-laptop:/home/smohan#

Powered off headset. Powered it on and it was discovered in gbtsco.
However, make active handset failed. hcidump shown below.

How do I get this to work if it is paired once? In Bluetooth
preferences, the device is seen as a bonded and trusted device too.
