[Bluez-users] Bluetooth kernel patch for 2.6.16 ?

Hi,

Thanks for your work on bluetooth kernel patches.

It's been a month since 2.6.16 release. Is it planed to release the
bluetooth kernel patch for this kernel so that people depending on this
patch could start using it ? Any chance to see this patch included in
mainline one (happy) day ?

The kernel module in cvs should work with 2.6.16 but it if doesn't,
please send us a bug report. We're probably due for another snapshot
release. I'll do a 0.42 in a week or so if everything looks good.

Getting stuff in mainline requires a significant political and technical
effort. And that would be after making a decent technical justification
for kernel rather than userspace...

I don't really get what you are talking about. I was talking about the
kernel patches similar to those available on
http://www.bluez.org/patches.html. And I don't see any 0.42 or 0.41
version :) Also the bluez CVS on
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/bluez/ seems to contain no kernel
files anymore...

BTW, is the git repository on
http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/holtmann/bluetooth-2.6.git
already including the changes of the bluetooth kernel patch ?

I understand. It would be great for all those having hardware requiring
this path, though.

my mistake. As far as bluez core... Marcel is constantly merging his
changes into mainline, so 2.6.16 may even have everything he's been
working on.
