One thing you could do here instead is just

if (roots->nnodes > 1)
	goto out;

and then do the while ((unode = ulist_next(roots, &uiter))) bit down here, that
way you don't needlessly iterate through all the roots if you don't have to.
Imagine having 5k snapshots and you delete one and then you have to loop through
all of the other 4999 snapshots for every block you look at.  Thanks,
