On my system with Linux 3.19.7, my /home btrfs file system was suddenly
mounted read-only, and I found underneath errors in the kernel log.
Is this a known problem with a fix available?
Should I run something like btrfs check --repair?
I'm using snapper on this file system to regularly make snapshots.

What kind of disk group profile we have in here ?
Underlaying disk should be fixed.
Thanks, Anand

This is just a BTRFS file system on an LVM logical volume located on
SSD /dev/sda. dmesg does not contain any error related to /dev/sda.
A read-only badblocks did not reveal any problem with /dev/sda, neither
did smartctl

Frederik,
This is the exact same thing happening to me. I started to have the same issues from 3.19.0 up to 4.0.0.
Right now I am on 4.0.2 and things are better (transactions actually got fixed), but after reading 9TB of data off the system (9.9TB in total), the system went to RO again.
The error seems to occur when there is a delay or read IO failure on the underlying device. In my case, the drive has a couple of pre-fail sectors. They are not dead but they do take longer than 500ms to read. When these IO errors occur, the transaction seems to get borked, and the system generates the Warning message. The system is setting the volume to read-only prior to updating the transaction, and when the IO “failure” occurs, the kernel warning hits, BTRFS just dumps, leaving the volume in a read-only state.
You can use a tool like WHDD to detect these slow blocks, but this will not solve the problem.
what is the output of btrfsck?
