logging console stdin

Hi,

is there a way to fork the stdin, stderr and stdout of console  and xconsole
.
to  separate log files,
 session based or otherwise.

It would be helpfull during installs to see if console input was interpreted
correctlly.

To be honest, I think I haven't really understood what you try to
achieve. Could you give a specific example?
