hi,
  If i have given a variable name that is declared previously.
 Is there any way to knoe the type of the variable.
for ex I have declared a variable str as
char *str;
it is declared in some other file.
How can i know the type of str.

 No there isn't. But you can know how bytes long the variable
is with the 'sizeof' operator.
