In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

ntfs: reject invalid empty mapping pairs

Reject an attribute with empty mapping pairs if it has inconsistent
highest VCN and size.

The Linux kernel CVE team has assigned CVE-2026-89613 to this issue.

	Issue introduced in 7.1 with commit 11ccc9107dc460de28af90fac1f42404d9802735 and fixed in 7.2.4 with commit b0cc6dbc655e037251874b3e0dd1a760dcf29007
	Issue introduced in 7.1 with commit 11ccc9107dc460de28af90fac1f42404d9802735 and fixed in 7.3-rc1 with commit 766062a82e1ce4087c7dc077224144dfd34b3661

Mitigation
==========

The Linux kernel CVE team recommends that you update to the latest
stable kernel version for this, and many other bugfixes.  Individual
changes are never tested alone, but rather are part of a larger kernel
release.  Cherry-picking individual commits is not recommended or
supported by the Linux kernel community at all.  If however, updating to
the latest release is impossible, the individual changes to resolve this
