That's correct, yes. Or, rather, they handle the first bridge in the chain, 
and then other bridges are handled recursively.

That's correct.

I won't hold my breath, but Jacopo might :-) He has a similar issue to solve 
(reporting the LVDS modes supported by the bridge).
