Subject: Re: [PATCH 00/11] Add NVIDIA LSTP USB adapter drivers
Date: Fri, 16 Oct 2026 11:19:13 +0300 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <20261016081917.1958681-1-aambrozewicz@nvidia.com> (raw)

Hi Greg, Jeremy,
Thanks for the review, and for the pointers to greybus and OBMF-ICP.
Some background on how LSTP relates to OBMF-ICP: LSTP was developed at
NVIDIA as an implementation of the OBMF model while the OBMF-ICP
specification was still being finalised. That took a while, and the
product could not wait for it, so LSTP ended up as a vendor deviation
from what OBMF-ICP became.
We will evaluate how to bring the LSTP and OBMF-ICP implementations
together, and we intend to work on and contribute to both. Jeremy,
thanks for the offer to look at how LSTP could fit as a set of
divergences from an OBMF-ICP driver; that is one of the options we want
to look at.
Before answering in detail, including the greybus and
one-function-per-interface questions, we need to align internally on
the next steps and the architecture. Expect to hear from us in the
next few days.
The individual patch reviews are not lost in the meantime; I'll answer
those on their own threads.
Thanks,
Adrian
