I am reviewing the patch for now.

The simplest way is I create an immutable branch based on v6.2-rc1 with 
these two patches and then I merge it back to the timers/next branch.

 From your side, you merge this immutable branch.

I'll take care of it ASAP, so you won't be blocked anymore.
