Hi Matthias,
I was wondering about the status of the following patches:
https://lore.kernel.org/linux-arm-kernel/20231001122418.2688120-4-dd@embedd.com/T/#rbafabf4bf2473327f35ce7d79623f63838630537
Do we need to respin them? Thx in advance.
Regards,
Lorenzo

Lorenzo, I don't think you have to.
Matthias, should we update the MAINTAINERS file to include the MediaTek
Airoha folder?
Actually that question is for both ARM and ARM64.
Cheers

The compatibles in en7581-evb.dts appear to be undocumented as of
whatever linux-next I have checked out from late last week.

Right, there's a 7523, but not a 7581.
Needs one more commit :-)

I don't see anyone from SoC maintainers CCed on that patchset, so no one
will pick it up. Pinging makes sense if maintainers missed/ignored your
email. But if you do not send stuff to maintainers, you need to resend
to proper people, not ping.
Additionally, this is a new arch, but it seems to miss any maintainers
update.
Best regards,
Krzysztof

I can't find any entry for airoha architecture in MAINTAINERS. Who is the
expected maintainer? (e.g. ARM variant)

I am not the original author of the series, I have just seen it on the ML and I
was wondering about the status since it seems there are no replies.

I expect this to be picked up by the mediatek maintainers,
same as what we did for the arch/arm/ port that was merged
first. While airoha is a separate company these days,
I assume this is still closely related to mt7623, mt7683,
and mt7622, just like en7523 was.

SoC maintainers are expected to be Cc'ed, even if they do not become
final maintainers. Get_maintainers, which should have been used there,
points it.
New platform should come with a new maintainer or should attach itself
to some existing platform. In both cases maintainers file will point to
platform maintainers...

Right. Lack of replies is the result of not Ccing anyone who would care.
get_maintainers.pl is the answer here.

Krzysztof

Yes, we're doing that.

Not really... it's still a MediaTek subsidiary...

I assume the same. I'll add the airoha directory to the MAINTAINERS file
under ARM/Mediatek.
