I have squid proxy running on this machine for users to browse. I am having endless problems with diald trying to reconnect after the user has ended the connection. About a minute after the user ends the connection diald dials up again. I get this in my /var/log/messages : "diald[1019]: trigger tcp 169.254.0.1/1028 the.ip.of the recently dialed.site/80" . After that it will drop the line and not try and dial it again. 169.254.0.1 is the ip of eth0. When I do a netstat I can see that 1028 belongs to the named service. Can anyone shed some light on this.
