Subject: [FYI] SOC project for ext4

Message-ID: <47D6407C.4010204@suse.de> (raw)
Hi,
These days, I am trying to apply a summer of code project for ext4 -- enable ext4 support on grub/grub2.
Now grub stage 1.5 does not support ext4, therefore ext4 can not be used as boot partition. I plan
to register a SOC project and act as mentor to promote ext4 on grub/grub2. NOTE, this is an ext4
project other than grub project, because grub legacy is only maintained by each distribution and
grub2 maintainer does not appreciate to port code from Linux kernel.
Do you have any suggestion, feedback or concern on this SOC project ?
