I've now updated the framebuffer driver list and hopefully listed each
current driver. It may not show the correct name so please suggest corrections.
For each driver its maintainer should be listed possibly with its
sourceforge.net user account in brackets. I'd like if only current
maintainers, who really take care of their drivers, are listed and none
who has done so in the past. Please any maintainer post a message to
linux-fbdev-devel or tell me where I can retrieve reliable information.
I'd like to form a QA team which task is mostly to take care of not
maintained drivers. If you want to volunteer just leave me a message.

for pm3fb (3Dlabs Permedia3 chipset), I'm still the
maintainer for 2.4.x. The entry in the MAINTAINERS
file is still valid:

I maintain amifb. This driver is not in linux-fbdev.sf.net CVS, but in
Linux/m68k CVS. It works fine in 2.4 and 2.6.

radeonfb:
Ben Herrenschmidt took over from Ani Joshi for 2.6, though he's pretty busy,
so radeonfb maintainership tends to be a group effort. I ported copyarea()
and fillrect() from the X radeon driver, so that accel code is my fault ;-)
cirrusfb:
I ported this to 2.6 after several years of bit rot, so I guess that makes me
the de facto maintainer ;-)

I can easily list several persons, but prefer just one. Of course anyone
can develop. Anytime in the future all the lastest driver sources should
be available via the driver list, so anybody can build a driver with
kbuild and test it on his station. IMO it makes much more sense to use
kbuild instead of patching and building the full source.

Corrected.
BTW have you seen my thread in the users lists
"http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=5425101&forum_id=2358"
? Do you have a solution or a workaround?

I'm in the middle of moving to Pittsburgh and starting graduate school;
I saw some posts on lkml where BenH found that the Radeon 7500 worked OK
if you told it to use noaccel, so that does sound like a problem in my code.
Unfortunately (fortunately?) I don't see the issue on my Radeon 9000, so
it'll be hard for me to track down, and I won't really have free time for
a few weeks :-/

If you could say me where I can specify the noaccel, I'll try it. I can
live for a few weeks if it just works, I can always boot back into
2.4.27. Unfortunatly my driver is automatically loaded somewhen during
hardware detection. I tried to unload/reload it with modconf but since
it's in use it isn't possible.

You set noaccel as a kernel boot argument... here's a kernel command line
that tells the kernel to pass scrollback to 128kilobytes of text and noaccel
to the radeon frame buffer driver, and to auto-mount devfs:
"video=radeonfb:scrollback=128k,noaccel devfs=mount"
your kernel boot args are set by your bootloader -- change it in the relevant
config file in /etc (grub.conf, lilo.conf or yaboot.conf)
