I don't think this made it to the list. sorry if this is a repeat.
I tested 2.6.10 and had the same problem. So it seems this version is
where the change/problem first appeared. All the tested kernels,
including the working and non-working, use the same Toshiba ACPI Extras
version, 0.18. I only guess that the new entry (after using the command
that previously turned the lcd backlight off) in the non-working
2.6.11->2.6.12-rc2 kernel logs (video bus notify) is something to
investigate. I also enabled the CONFIG_ACPI_DEBUG option and retested
the kernels with no luck.
