If you're into both security and storage, this might be the workshop
for you. You can submit a short paper (6 pages) if you're like most
Linux developers and don't have time to write a full paper (12 pages).

The 2nd ACM International Workshop on Storage Security and Survivability
(StorageSS 2006) will bring together researchers in storage systems and
computer security. We encourage paper submissions from both research and
industry presenting novel ideas on all theoretical and practical aspects of
protecting storage systems. Topics of interest include, but aren't limited
to:

- storage protection tradeoffs
- storage protection deployment (including case studies)
- smart storage for security and/or survivability
- analysis of covert storage channels and leaks
- mobile storage protection
- novel backup protection techniques
- protection using versioning
- storage encryption techniques (both key management and crypto algorithms)
- tamper-evident storage protection techniques
- immutable storage protection techniques, provenance
- storage threat models
- storage intrusion detection systems
- security for long-term / archival storage
- security/survivability in various environments (HPC, ISP, databases, etc.)
- privacy issues in remote/hosted storage

Submissions are due on July 14th, 2006, and can be either full papers (12
pages) or short papers (6 pages). Further information can be found on the
full Call for Papers at <http://www.storagess.org/>. The workshop will take
place on Monday, October 30, 2006, in conjunction with the 13th ACM
Conference on Computer and Communications Security (CCS 2006).
