Hi! I'm announcing a new version of udftools 2.0, available at:

Udftools is a project which contains userspace tools for UDF filesystem.
UDF is a filesystem mostly used on optical media, but can be used also
on hard disks because is natively supported in read-write mode by Linux,
Windows and Mac OS systems. Mkudffs now format hard disk with fake MBR
partition which is needed for compatibility with Windows systems.

New version 2.0 of udftools contains two new tools:
* udflabel for changing label or UUID
* udfinfo for displaying various information about UDF filesystem

Important changes in mkudffs are:
* UUID algorithm is same as in grub2 and util-linux v2.30+
* Fixed generating images for CD-R discs and UDF images with VAT
  (all previous versions generated broken/unmountable VAT images)
* Added (experimental) support for UDF revision 2.50 and 2.60, but only
  for disc with VAT (e.g. Blu-Ray Disc Recordable)
* Added new option --bootarea=preserve|erase|mbr to specify what to do
  with first 32kB of disk;
  --bootarea=mbr put MBR with one partition which starts at sector 0 and
  spans whole disk device (compatibility for MS Windows)
* Optimize splitting disk space to maximize available free space for data

Tool pktsetup for configuring packet writing devices now works by
specifying just minor:major numbers of block device and udftools
contains udev rule for automatic assigning of packet writing device for
available optical drives. It can replace init scripts which more
distributions specially created for pktsetup.

For next version of udftools is planned a new fsck tool which would
repair inconsistent UDF filesystem.
