The Qualcomm MSM8917 Global Clock controller after adding support for new
SoCs has different clock inputs, thus existing qcom,gcc-msm8909.yaml was
not describing it fully. Move the binding to it's own schema file and
document the clocks based on DTS. Add driver contributors as it's
maintainers.

I do not understand. It is exactly the same as old (before split).

But this is part of #1. At least that would be logical, because
otherwise your move does not make sense - moved code is the same as old
code.

Modify existing MSM8917 driver to support MSM8937 SoC. Override frequencies
which are different in this chip. Register all the clocks to the framework
for the clients to be able to request for them. Add new variant of GDSC for
new chip.

So the computer tells me 8917 and 8937 are *very* similar. Have you
tried assessing how making 8937.dtsi an overlay atop 8917.dtsi would
work out?

I'm pretty sure a CPU with a MPIDR of 0 should be called CPU0

I'll do further review if you decide it makes sense to keep this
separate from 8917

They are similar but there are many small differences:
- have two dsi
- using adreno 505
- different iommu it uses arm, smmu for gpu and qcom, iommu for
applications
- 8 cores
- camss will be a different a bit
- venus will be different a bit
- have more i2c and spi
- different mdp version
Maybe i can find more differences, originally it was based on
msm8917.dtsi
but we have decided to keep it separate, also it have different license
from 8917.
The plan is MSM8940 and SDM439 support will based on msm8937.dtsi in the
future.

Alright, makes sense to keep them separate then

My bot found new DTB warnings on the .dts files added or changed in this
series.
Some warnings may be from an existing SoC .dtsi. Or perhaps the warnings
are fixed by another series. Ultimately, it is up to the platform
maintainer whether these warnings are acceptable or not. No need to reply
unless the platform maintainer has comments.
If you already ran DT checks and didn't see these error(s), then
make sure dt-schema is up to date:
pip3 install dtschema --upgrade
New warnings running 'make CHECK_DTBS=y for arch/arm64/boot/dts/qcom/' for 20250211-msm8937-v1-0-7d27ed67f708@mainlining.org:
