After a little more digging I found out what's happening. I appears that with this new kernel /etc/hotplug/pci.agent now decides to load radeonfb. This module, when loaded, causes the virtural console screen to go blank. I've added radeonfb to /etc/hotplug/blacklist and now all is well. I'm an X user and don't use frame buffer so I guess this is no big deal. Thanks again for the help. -Todd On Thu, 2004-06-17 at 19:12, Greg KH wrote: > On Thu, Jun 17, 2004 at 06:16:43PM -0400, Todd Musall wrote: > > > > I did some testing and found that when /etc/hotplug/pci.rc calls udev > > for my video card (Radeon 8500LE AGP) is when the screen goes black. > > This didn't happen under 2.6.6 kernel, so I'm wondering if this is a > > driver issue? > > Where do you see the code in pci.rc that calls udev?
