Hello,
I spotted an error message in the /var/log/messages when I was looking
for clues how to change a USB disk fstab-sync properties (permissions
and mount point). The message concluded with a request to report it to
this list.
Here are the hopefully relevant lines:

device link) or the sysfs-support of your device's driver needs to be
fixed, please report to <linux-hotplug-devel@lists.sourceforge.net>

You may update to a later version of udev which will not print this, or
if possible get a 2.6.10 kernel which should not cause this problem.
