There are problems with udev devices on my computer. In operating system
FC3, kernels 2.6.11..., there is a problem with ATA disks connected to
the system. System sometimes stays locked, files stay corrupt. Sometimes
ATA disks cable must be disconnected from system, sometimes the disk
drive must be turn off. Sometimes the all of those are without effect
and system must be reseted, and corrupt filesystems fixed. After started
the extended log of usb filesystem, it informs me to contact you. The
second problem is with sfdisk utility. Fdisk reports the right geometry
of the ATA disk drive(255/63/*), but sfdisk reports 0/0/0 and mkfs.vfat
crash with “cannot obtain the disk geometry”.
There are two bridges in system, the first PCI to USB with Via 6202
(6212) chip and USB to ATA disk drive with GL811E chip. It seems, that
same situation occurs with/without sl811-hcd.
fdisk:
Disk /dev/uba: 120.0 GB, 120034123776 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 14593 cylinders
Units = cylindry of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
sfdisk:
Disk /dev/uba: cylindrů: 0, hlav: 0, sektorů/stopu: 0
Warning: The partition table looks like it was made
for C/H/S=*/255/63 (instead of 0/0/0).
For this listing I'll assume that geometry.
Jednotky = cylindry po 8225280 bajtech, bloky po 1024 bajtech, počítáno
od 0
