Do you see your soundcard in /sys with a "dev" file anywhere?
If not, then no, udev will not handle your sound card.
I had some patches that added sysfs support for sound devices, and am
currently working on fixing them up a bit. Hopefully by the end of the
week (but I'm not promising anything...)

Like frame buffer devices? See the patches I've posted to linux-kernel
and the linux-hotplug-devel mailing lists to add support for this.
The DRI people are also working on kernel changes to add this support.

Will other hardware like videocards etc also be added?
