I run a LFS 'distribution' and building the same has given me all of my linux knowlege (ie my questions may be dumb !!!!) I have built hotplug-2004.1.5 and udev-012. sysfs is mounted and /sys contains entries such as /sys/class/tty/console/dev. udev-test.pl works with no errors test.all all works with no errors What now ? Do I just delete all of the static device files in /dev and hope that udev will create them on the reboot ? Won't I need /dev/console and /dev/hda4 (root fs) to remain in /dev ?
