Hello,
I just plug my usb printer and udev (or hotplug) creates the
device /dev/printers/0. That's ok for me, but since it's an usb printers,
cups try to access it to /dev/usb/lp0. I know that I can change this
behaviour, but maybe it could be a good thing to make symlinks
from /dev/printers/0 to /dev/usb/lp0 when the printer is an usb one.
Thanks.

Regards,
JJ

Add the following to /etc/udev/udev.rules:

BUS="usb", KERNEL="lp[0-9]*", NAME="printers/%n", SYMLINK="usb/lp%n"

Is that all you're looking for or are you suggesting this get added to the
udev.rules that is included in the upstream and distro-maintained (debian,
fedora, etc) package?

Mike
