Would it be possible to the hotplug changes to libsysfs for klibc support pushed
back into the master copy of libsysfs at sourceforge?

Becuase you wrote them? I thought you would want to make sure that a correct
patch was generated so that udev could switch over to the master version too.

udev will not at this time switch over to the system-wide libsysfs for a
number of reasons that have been detailed in the past here.
