What kernel module drives your card? I expect that the /class/net/wlan0
directory misses the "device" symlink. This should be created by the
driver and fixed in the module, for the message to go away.

It's the prism2_usb module from linux-wlan-ng. (linux-wlan.org).

If you don't see a "device" file with "ls -l /sys/class/net/wlan0",
please ask the author of the driver to add the symlinks creation.
It is for net devices in most cases only one line in the driver code
calling the macro: SET_NETDEV_DEV(dev, &dev->dev);
