Hi. While playing around with GigaPod (external USB connected disk
enclosure) I've got this in messages:

Dec 9 17:57:19 nelchael usb 1-3: new high speed USB device using address 4
Dec 9 17:57:19 nelchael scsi1 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
Dec 9 17:57:24 nelchael wait_for_sysfs[29851]: either wait_for_sysfs
(udev 046) needs an update to handle the device
'/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb1/1-3/1-3:1.0' properly (no bus
device link) or the sysfs-support of your device's driver needs to be
fixed, please report to <linux-hotplug-devel@lists.sourceforge.net>

Asked to report - so it is :)

If any more details are required I'll post them. (kernel version: 2.6.9-ck3)

We got several reports like that. I've had the same problem here but
it's gone with kernel 2.6.10*, so I never looked into the real reason
for it.

Yeah, we don't print anything from v047 on.
I've had enough fun with that for now :)

I don't play with -rc series kernels due to that I need working system
to work. I simply don't have time to compile the kernel few times to
test it. I'll wait for stable 2.6.10.

"don't print" - it supresses the message and ignores the problem?

As soon as 048 gets to Gentoo's portage tree I'll upgrade.

It's not "the" problem. It's only a side effect of a failing operation
not related to hotplug, udev or sysfs. So the message is wrong here and
we don't print it anymore, yes.
