But I'd like to know first if you accept my patch to scripts/mod/file2alias.c, because it'd require a small modification to this one, putting more sense into the string it generates :) Besides, should I consider MODNAME agreed upon? Given it's potential use in hotplug not only for modprobing but as a more general matcher, wouldn't something like DEVALIAS be a better variable name? (Not that the name is too important, though.)
