Its just 'kinda spooky, when you KNOW that you did a mknod, or you KNOW that you made the symbolic link, to have them disappear the next time you do a reboot. I wasted a good deal of time trying to figure out why a program was NOT running, since I KNEW that I had made the node... having it disapper ws the last thing I expected to happen. So, I have copies of the rules everywhere here at home now, and will copy them to my machines at the lab on Monday...
