Hi Folks,
I'm trying unsuccessfully to get the Cisco Linux VPN software
client (4.6.02) working on Fedora Core 3. Here's what I see:
---
% vpnclient connect myprofile
Cisco Systems VPN Client Version 4.6.02 (0030)
Copyright (C) 1998-2004 Cisco Systems, Inc. All Rights Reserved.
Client Type(s): Linux
Running on: Linux 2.6.10-1.770_14.rhfc3.at #1 Fri Mar 4 11:34:31
EST 2005 i686
Config file directory: /etc/opt/cisco-vpnclient
Initializing the VPN connection.
Contacting the gateway at 1.2.3.4
Secure VPN Connection terminated locally by the Client
(...the client stalls for a bit here...)
Reason: Remote peer is no longer responding.
There are no new notification messages at this time.
---
I suspect it may have to do with the following message I saw only
once in /var/log/messages:
Mar 29 11:20:07 myhost wait_for_sysfs[6670]: either
wait_for_sysfs (udev 039) needs an update to handle the device
'/class/net/cipsec0' properly (no device symlink) or the
sysfs-support of your device's driver needs to be fixed, please
report to <linux-hotplug-devel@lists.sourceforge.net>
My udev package is completely up to date. How do I fix this
problem?
Thanks,
Ed

No, this isn't a problem, you can safely ignore it.

Update the udev package? I do not think that 039 is the latest version.
thanks

Thanks, Greg. I upgraded to udev-039-10.FC3.7, and I see no
additional wait_for_sysfs log message, but no joy either:

Other ideas? BTW, vpnc to the same destination works. I'm not
knowledgeable enough to say if that means it is unrelated to
linux hotplug stuff...
