Dear Sir,
When I attempted to use ebtables for linux bridging, I had the following
message:
wait_for_sysfs[3383]: either wait_for_sysfs (udev 039) needs an update to
handle the device '/class/net/br0' properly (no device symlink) or the
sysfs-support of your device's driver needs to be fixed, please report to
<linux-hotplug-devel@lists.sourceforge.net>
Is there any suggestion?
With best regards,
Muhtar Mahsut

Got this when I tried plugging in my Dell USB keys. My USB system works, as
I've got a cable modem, a bluetooth adaptor and a p800 usb cradle all
working. I'm running Gentoo, latest stable. The key works fine under Windows
(flawlessly I might add).....
God I miss devfs... at least it worked....

Forgive the outburst, the problem wasn't with UDEV but with kernel modules and
their interaction with the bios.... It's been a long night.... It works
now...

hi
i've been trying to get my handspring visor to talk to my linux computer
over usb. i looked in the syslog and found this:
wait_for_sysfs[8575]: either wait_for_sysfs (udev 045) needs an update
to handle the device
'/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:03.1/usb3/3-1/3-1:1.0/ttyUSB1' properly
(bus specific file unavailable) or the sysfs-support of your device's
driver needs to be fixed, please report to
<linux-hotplug-devel@lists.sourceforge.net>
i believe i have compiled in the necessary kernel modules to make this
work. please let me know if you can help me, or if you need more
information from me. this is the system i am running it on [uname - a]:

Update your udev package and this message will go away.

Hi,
I live-migrated a domU.
dom0 and domU are Debian 3.1, domU has its VBDs on iSCSI Luns provided by a
third machine running iscsi enterprise target.
I catched the following message in the syslog of my target machine:
Jan 11 12:09:28 testpc-018 udev[4866]: error: unknown bus, please report to
<linux-hotplug-devel@lists.sourceforge.net> 'xen-backend'
Jan 11 12:09:28 testpc-018 udev[4871]: error: unknown bus, please report to

Jan 11 12:09:28 testpc-018 udev[4873]: error: unknown bus, please report to

All, hardcoded devices information is long removed from udev. This is no
longer an issue.
You can safely ignore it, it may just delay a few events for a few
seconds.
