Hi,
I would like to know if printf in udev rules could at all do something?
(I have temporary removed all "printfs" from the udev rules and
I have looked carefully at the console messages. I have not seen any
difference in messages on console - no matter if there are "printfs" in
rules or no.)
If printfs in udev rules are able to do anything, could someone gives me
an example:
a)what should I do to see "printf" in action ?
b)where exactly I should look at to see this activity?
Thanks in advance
janusz
Ps
Writing #9544
I thought that "a printf" could give echo on console
but now I am not sure....

No, as there is no "console" at that point in time to be able to print
to.
Try writing to a file instead.
Hope this helps,

Thanks very much for information!
But, it is very surprising for me:
what could be a reason to put "printf" in the maintainer's
set of rules (eg. devfs.rules)????
For future applications???
