Hi Greg,
I wanted to use USB Hotplugging mechanism for some requirement. Basically
my application need to subscribe for USB notification callback i.e .
whenever uSB is inserted/removedf my app need to know. I was understanding
the flow, I came to know that kernel will call /sbin/hotplug, if this
script is called with usb arg then it will look for /etc/hotplug.d/usb/
and execute (all?) program(s) ending with .hotplug. Also i wanted to know
where in kernel sbin/hotplug will get called. Can u explain me the overall
flow with brief explanation. How does the cold plug work and how do the
user program can register for a callback
Warm Regards,
Akshay

I'd recommend just watching the DBUS for HAL events for every usb device
added or removed from the system. That's a lot easier than trying to
execute your own program from the hotplug scripts.
Hope this helps,
