Kernel 2.4.21-50 (CentOS 3.9)
1: This kernel on EPoX EP-KRAI8 PRO recognizes all USB devices and
mounts them. HappyHappyJoyJoy. (this is my development system).
2: This kernel on Congatec ETX-LX800 with CS5536 (companion chip that
inter alia provides the USB) recognizes none (this is my product target
system).

The kernel configurator knows of CS5530 but not CS5536, I have yet to
find a kernel module for this chip/kernel combo.
I know the thumbdrive devices (and hotplug in general) are good because
of the success on the development system.

I desire clues as to what is wrong in my target system.
Here is dmesg (with thumbdrive device plugged in), and /var/log/messages
of a hotplug after the next '=='

Here is dmesg (with thumbdrive device plugged in), and
/var/log/messages of a hotplug after the next '=='
