Hi,
I have a more or less a user question.
My device is a Vodafone 3G/UMTS Datacard.
The card works when I modify the modules.conf like a usbseriel device.

How can I use it with hotplug mechanism ?
I am using SuSE 9.0 , hotplug-2002_08_26.

Thanks
Bernd

when i plug it in i get
Apr 2 14:11:23 vaio kernel: hub.c: new USB device 07:00.0-1, assigned
address 3
Apr 2 14:11:23 vaio kernel: usb.c: USB device 3 (vend/prod
0xaf0/0x5000) is not claimed by any active dr

after putting
options usbserial vendor=0xaf0 product=0x5000
in /etc/modules.conf :

Apr 2 18:36:33 vaio kernel: hub.c: new USB device 07:00.0-1, assigned
address 3
Apr 2 18:36:33 vaio kernel: usbserial.c: Generic converter detected
Apr 2 18:36:33 vaio kernel: usbserial.c: Generic converter now attached
to ttyUSB0 (or usb/tts/0 for devfs)
Apr 2 18:36:33 vaio kernel: usbserial.c: Generic converter detected
Apr 2 18:36:33 vaio kernel: usbserial.c: Generic converter now attached
to ttyUSB1 (or usb/tts/1 for devfs)
Apr 2 18:36:33 vaio kernel: usbserial.c: Generic converter detected
Apr 2 18:36:33 vaio kernel: usbserial.c: Generic converter now attached
to ttyUSB2 (or usb/tts/2 for devfs)

Then I can use it like a modem.
