Since I don't see this in the archives, I'm resending it. Sorry if it turns out to be a dupe. OK, I've installed the udev RPM and added the following line to /etc/udev/rules.d/50-udev.rules: BUS="usb", SYSFS{idVendor}="04b8", SYSFS{idProduct}="0110", NAME="usb/epson_scanner" Here is the output of lsusb: Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 001 Device 003: ID 04e8:323a Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd Bus 001 Device 002: ID 04b8:0110 Seiko Epson Corp. Perfection 1650 Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 This seems like it should work, but the /udev/usb/epson_scanner node never gets created. (/udev/usb/lp0 is created.) What could I be doing wrong?
