Message-ID: <41064B7F.7000204@blueyonder.co.uk> (raw)
Some time ago I tried using udev and found the following problems.
/dev/initctl and /dev/console were not created, as expected these are
not device nodes. With this situation, you don't get a console and
errors in init occur.
The udev script on power down removes all devices in /dev, so it begs
the question how the above are handled under udev. If I mknod them and
arrange for the script not to remove all in /dev, it works fine, but
this seems to defeat the purpose behind udev.
Thanks in advance for any explanation.
Regards
Sid.
