Subject: Ethernet PCMCIA devices

Message-ID: <41421076.2040604@kuiki.net> (raw)
I haven't worked on this problem much recently, but I used to use nameif
(called from hotplug) to rename the interfaces on my laptop, now I am
using udev to reach this end.
The problem is, the pcmcia handler scripts are notified of the /old/
device name, and so automatic startup of a pcmcia nic isn't possible as
far as I can see. Does anyone know how the execution of hotplug and
pcmcia are with regards to concurrency?
I may even be asking the wrong people, but thanks for reading.
