Hi folks,

I've added diethotplug and the startup scripts for
pci and usb to an initrd image. At boot time the
hotplug events are synthesized as usual. But since
each call to /sbin/hotplug can trigger new hotplug
events the execution becomes asynchronous. Some
controllers (e.g. SCSI) take a _very_ long time
for initialization. There is a high chance that the
boot procedure continues while hotplug is still busy
mounting modules.

What is your suggestion how to handle this?

Regards

Harri
