I have a small distribution based on vanilla kernel, which is using devfs (checking the option on kernel config) and I want to change to udev. But I'm having some problems to make it successful. When I disable the devfs support in the kernel, the startup hangs in the following line, after mounting the root (ext3 filesystem): "Warning: unable to open an initial console" What could it be? What can I do to make udev work in my distro? Thanks.
