Subject: Hotplug does not load usbhid

Hi all,
First of all, please reply not only to the list, as I am not a subscriber.
I have a problem with hotplugging my USB mouse on my laptop.
To make the mouse work, I need three modules of my 2.6.9 kernel :
usbcore, uhci_hcd and usbhid
When all three modules are loaded, my mouse works fine.
But...
Hotplug loads the first two modules when started for they correspond to
controllers of the mainboard. But when I plug my USB mouse, it does not load
usbhid. I have searched through Google for any reference to this issue,
including kernel recognition problems towards my USB mouse (Kensington).
Nothing.
I tried to find out how to add a new device in the usb.handmap, to force usbhid
to be loaded, but I do not understand any field !
If anybody can help, please tell me which logs you may need.
Thanks in advance,
Philippe Combes
