Hi,
I bought an USB/IDE bridge and put a DVD-RW in it. Now if I plug it in,
it gets assigned /dev/sda by the kernel. Not bad at all, I thought. And
it reads CDs and DVDs just fine.
But, unfortunately, I can't (yet) write with it.
Checking the logs I found the lines below when re-plugging it.
Those lines request mailing here.
Some other info: this is a Duron 700 running debians 2.6.9-1-k7 kernel.
Udev and hotplug are (according to dpkg):
ii udev 0.042-1 /dev/ management daemon
ii hotplug 0.0.20040329-16 Linux Hotplug Scripts
If any other information is required, just ask.
While I'm here, any suggestions how to get this DVD writing?
Thanks,
Jan Evert
