Subject: Udev/Usb HD/debian Sarge Issue

Message-ID: <41B604B9.1040605@taika.fr> (raw)
Hello,
I don't know if this mailing-list is the right one to ask the following
question. If it is not, please excuse me and point me to the right place :)
I'm using Debian GNU/Linux Sarge with the following :
ii hotplug 0.0.20040329-16 Linux Hotplug Scripts
ii udev 0.042-1 /dev/ management daemon
In fact, hotplug/udev are working well with my Palm Zire m150. But now,
I try to get the 2 following peripherals working :
IOMEGA Desktop Hard Drive 160GB USB 2.0
Apple Ipod mini
I added the following udev rules for them (in
/etc/udev/rules.d/10-personal) :
# Gestion du device Iomega USB Disk
BUS="scsi", SYSFS{vendor}="HDS72251", NAME{all_partitions}="iomega"
# Gestion du device Apple IPod Mini
BUS="scsi", SYSFS{vendor}="Apple ", KERNEL="sd?2", NAME="ipod%n"
Note : I don't exactly know what means : ipod%n...
But udev maps them as sd*... (which is normal but that's not the way I
assumed them to be mapped...)
Is there something I'm missing ? An error ?
Any help will be fully appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
