I seek your assistance in resolving a problem with ieee1394 encountered while upgrading. I'm using Fedora Core 3 x86_64. I have and MSI 7030 motherboard with onboard ieee1394. 'lspci' reports it as: 02:0c.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394): VIA Technologies, Inc. IEEE 1394 Host Controller (rev 46) There is no /dev/ieee1394 device created when the modules are installed.. 'modprobe ohci1394' produces the following which is also attached. /sbin/modprobe Jan 27 15:11:21 albion kernel: ohci1394: $Rev: 1223 $ Ben Collins Jan 27 15:11:21 albion kernel: ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:02:0c.0[A] -> GSI 10 level, low) -> IRQ 10 Jan 27 15:11:21 albion wait_for_sysfs[3956]: error: unknown bus, please report to 'ieee1394' Jan 27 15:11:21 albion wait_for_sysfs[3956]: either wait_for_sysfs (udev 039) needs an update to handle the device /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:0e.0/0000:02:0c.0/fw-host0' properly (unknown bus) or the sysfs-support of your device's driver needs to be fixed, please report to Jan 27 15:11:21 albion ieee1394.agent[3968]: ... no drivers for IEEE1394 product 0x/0x/0x Jan 27 15:11:21 albion kernel: ohci1394: fw-host0: OHCI-1394 1.0 (PCI): IRQ=[10] MMIO=[ea000000-ea0007ff] Max Packet=[2048] Jan 27 15:11:21 albion hald[2401]: Timed out waiting for hotplug event 330.
